Our Prayer Ministers:

Joan Feikema

Joan Feikema ministers to men, women and couples desiring personal growth and relationship improvement, working with each as the Holy Spirit leads. She offers Healing Prayer as she ministers to the body, soul and spirit. She has been trained in Elijah House Prayer Ministry, having successfully completed both the Basic School in June 1991 and the Advanced Course in July 1992 from Elijah House, Inc. She completed the Elijah House Internship I Program in June 1995. She has received training in Sexual Abuse issues, DID/SRA, and Basic and Advanced TheoPhostic. She also attended the Basic and Advanced Tom Hawkins DID seminars, 2 years at Thrive conferences and one Internship at CARE, Inc. Currently she directs The Healing Tree, founded in 1999. She has been ministering on a part-time basis since 1985 and full time since 1989 and looks forward to serving you as she serves Christ.
Nancy Hoisington

Nancy Hoisington began part time at the Healing Tree in 1999, helping out with office work. She is married and has four children and several grandchildren. She has completed Elijah House Basic (1999) and Advanced (2001) Schools, and their Internship 1 Program (2004).  Other training has included: Levels 1 & 2 at
Cornerstone Christian Centre (Art Zeilstra), Thrive Conferences (Jim Wilder), Advanced DID Training (Tom & Diane Hawkins), and a one-week internship at C.A.R.E. (Jo Getzinger).  She has been ministering in prayer to individuals part time since September 2003. She does prayer ministry with women and men desiring personal growth and relationship improvement; ministering to those with anxiety, depression, traumas, dissociation, ritual abuse, addictions, panic attacks, obsessions & compulsions, eating disorders, gender issues, grief & loss, marital difficulties, low self-esteem, social discomfort and spiritual confusion. Nancy does prayer ministry, not professional counseling, as she is not licensed or insured as such. However, God has seen fit to work with and through her in moving people toward freedom. She will do her best to work with God for your good and God’s glory.
Mary Herrema

Mary’s focus is helping her clients find God’s heart.  Her life was so radically changed in 2001 when introduced to Prayer Ministry, she has since dedicated her time, resources and life to doing the same for others. Her training is extensive in inner healing; Elijah House, Theophostics, Hawkins Advanced DID training school, Internships at CARE Inc., Thrive conferences. Her ministry over these last several years has produced amazing results.  Mary has joined our staff in the spring of 2007.

Linda Postema

Linda Postema has completed both the Elijah House Basic I and Advanced schools in 2003 as well as the Internship I in 2006. In addition Linda has received Basic and Advanced training from Cornerstone Christian Counseling Centre (Arthur Zeilstra), Restoration in Christ SRA/DID (Tom Hawkins), Aslan’s Place for Discernment training (Paul Cox), training in TheoPhostic Prayer Ministry and Freedom in Christ. Her latest training at CARE, Inc. in Baldwin, MI in 2007.

Linda has artistic and prophetic gifting. She has a joyful, gentle, quiet spirit, yet speaks with authority. She has an ability to really listen to other people and be attentive to their needs with a high degree of accurate empathy. She readily and helpfully receives pictures from the Lord. We are graced with her presence. She now operates primarily in Northwest Barry County, drawing people from the surrounding areas.

Renee Bixler

Renee started working at The Healing Tree in November of 2007. She is our Office Coordinator and keeps the office running smoothly.  When you call or stop in to the office she is the one to greet you with a warm smile.  She is a  great addition to our ministry here at The Healing Tree.
David Brown, M.Ed., M.Div.

David served as a minister for 18 years and then with Elijah House for 6 years before accepting the call to serve in training prayer counselors at Elijah House Canada where he served for 8 ½ years. David has served with The Healing Tree since the beginning of 2003. He and his wife, Carol moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan and are sharing home with Carol’s mother.

David received his Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary and his second Master’s in Human Services and Counseling in 1994. He is grateful for training, nevertheless commits to depending on God’s Word and His Spirit, for our Lord is still the Wonderful Counselor and it is our Savior’s love that transforms people’s lives.
Carolyn Lovelace

Carolyn has a passion for Spiritual Formation, which she defines as taking the next step toward God.  At the Healing Tree this involves praying with and for indiviuals for needs of the spirit, soul, and body.  Ministry to the spirit typically involves dealing with generational issues and empowering the spirit to walk in unity with the Holy Spirit.  Ministry to the soul includes the myriad issues of life including but not limited to anxiety, depression, grief, low self-image, boundary setting, emotional abuse, forgiveness, hopelessness, trauma, shame and guilt. Ministry to the body includes searching out and dealing with spiritual causes for physical illness as well as prayer directly for physical healing.

Carolyn has a BA from Calvin College, has graduated from the Beulah Beach College of Prayer and has taken extensive training specific to ministry at The Healing Tree.  She has been active in various forms of ministry since the mid 1970s. She has been married to Lee for 36 years and has 3 adult children and two grandkitties.
