The
The Healing Tree Internship Program  (Dates TBA)
In September of 2009 we will begin our second Internship Program for those who have completed Elijah House Basic Schools 1 & 2.  We are currently receiving applications from those who are interested in being part of this dynamic training.  In order to have a successful program we will need four interns.

The Purpose of Internship 1 is to build on the foundation of the Elijah House Basic Schools (1 & 2):
  • To provide further instruction to those who do prayer ministry within the Body of Christ, whether they are lay or                       professional counselors, on how to pray for and minister to others with healing results.
  • To provide discipling experiences where the interns can learn skills and understanding in how to partner with the Holy         Spirit in ministry, how to apply biblical principles in prayer ministry, and in their own gifting.

Internship-Full-time: TBA
  • Prayer Ministry Schedule – TBA
  • Beyond the BasicsTBA
**The schedule may be extended in order to achieve the required Prayer Ministry hours.

1.Prayer Ministry Phases
  • Observe:     60 hours of observation of Prayer Ministry with The Healing Tree Prayer ministers and their clients.
  • Assist: 60 hours of assisting a Prayer Minister’s lead in ministry with clients.
  • Lead:  60 hours of leading the prayer ministry sessions as appropriate, with a Prayer Minister’s support.
Note:An intern may be asked to spend additional time in any of the above phases or even to put
their internship on hold if the Prayer Ministers determine that would be best.

2.Feedback
  • Weekly Debriefings with Prayer Ministers about the individual sessions; includes answering
questions, giving observations, and encouraging the interns.
  • Written Evaluations at the end of each of the 3 major phases: Observe, Assist, and Lead.

3.Beyond the Basics
  • 36 hours of Classes expanding on teachings from Elijah House Basic 1 & 2 Schools; including
material from Arthur Burk, Paul Cox, Jim Wilder and Kevin Lehman, Art Zielstra and others.
  • 18 hours of Training Group experiences (12 sessions) to develop skills in prayer ministry and
receive more prayer for oneself, which is great training in what to do and not do for others.

The Cost is $825 for the Intensive Week ministry prior to the Internship and $2,400 for tuition.  Transportation and any room and board costs are additional.

Application Deadline. While applications may be received and acted upon prior to the deadline, all applications must be received no later than 2 months before the start of a program.  Interns will be selected within 4 weeks after the date on which applications are due

Prerequisites for Internship 1
  • Trained in giving Prayer Ministry through having completed the Basic I and II Elijah House Schools
  • Submitted a completed Application to THT Internship program and received acceptance by The Healing Tree Prayer Ministers.
  • Received an Intensive Week of Prayer Ministry prior to starting the Internship, from a Healing Tree prayer minister or an Elijah House prayer minister (with 2 years experience).  If that intensive was more than a year before the internship starts, then another intensive needs to be completed prior to starting the internship.

The Intensive gives benefits:
1.This is to benefit the interns by helping them work through any issues that need to be addressed.  We believe interns will get the most out of training if they have undergone significant prayer ministry prior to training.  Receiving prayer ministry is itself an important training experience.

2.This is to benefit those you would minister to in the future by resolving issues that could interfere with giving ministry and by giving you personal experience in what it is like to be on the receiving end of ministry.  Hopefully, this adds compassion and understanding for those you would ministry to.

3.This also allows for THT to recommend a person delay starting the internship, if major issues should arise during the one-week intensives that are deemed to be a hindrance to their time in the Internship Program.  A major unresolved issue may require EHC to exercise their responsibility to terminate or postpone a person’s internship until further notification.
Scheduling and completing an intensive is for the benefit of the person as well as for the benefit of any future clients of the person applying.  Therefore, completing an intensive is not a guarantee of acceptance into the internship program.

  • The last prerequisite is to have THT office send a reference form for the prayer minister who led your intensive, who then is responsible for completing it and mailing it to the office.

Projects:  Projects may be assigned as needed to facilitate interns’ learning while in this program.

Couples Applying for THT Internship will be treated as individual applicants.  Therefore, each will have to complete separate applications and pay individual tuitions.  References may be from the same sources, but separate applications must be filled out as well as application fees paid.  If accepted, you will undergo your one-week intensive prayer ministry separately.

Re-applying:  After two years from initial application, applicants who  still desire to be considered for acceptance into the Internship Program, must send in a non-refundable administration fee of $35.00 to be considered for an additional two years.   No new application form needs to be filled out. If after four years an applicant still desires to be considered and has not yet been accepted, he/she must complete a new application packet in full.

Certification.  Upon completion of any of THT internship programs, interns will receive a certificate indicating which program they have completed.  This means graduates have the indicated experience in learning the Elijah House model of prayer ministry through The Healing Tree Internship and can represent themselves as having completed The Healing Tree Internship.
This does not entitle nor endorse an intern to be represented as an associate, affiliate, representative or prayer minister of Elijah House or The Healing Tree. While Elijah House recommends THT Internship, our programs are not accredited by any association.

Charitable Status.  Payments concerning the Internship Program are NOT considered to be charitable contributions.  They are considered to be payments for service rendered (the service of training).

Thank you for your interest in THT Internship Program.  Even more importantly, we thank God for your interest in bringing His healing to people, in restoring relationships, especially people’s relationship to God our Father.
